Meet the model who posed for Wendy in Cecil Thomas’ The Darling Children Learning to Fly sculpture. Catherine Lee will be visiting from London – her first time to see the sculpture after modelling for Cecil Thomas 59 years ago.
Hear about her experience posing for the sculptor and the history of Cecil Thomas.

Peter Pan Storytime Picnic
Pack a picnic, dress up as your favourite Peter Pan character and head down to the Dunedin Botanic Garden to listen to the delightful story of Peter Pan. This will be read by a very special guest, the model for Wendy in the Garden’s statue of The Darling Children Learning to Fly. The Dunedin Public Libraries team will also be on site with Peter Pan-themed crafts and a collection of books.
Sunday 1 February 11.30am | Meet at the Peter Pan statue in the Lower Garden.
If rainy – story time will be held in the Information Centre (no food and beverages will be allowed in here to protect our displays)
